FAQ
Do your cosmetics contain parabens?
Our cosmetic products do not contain any parabens since we respect wishes of our customers, the majority of whom do not want them. However, parabens have always been efficient, safe and the least irritant preservatives (according to dermatologists). They have been used in pharmacy and the beauty industry for several tens of years.
Due to a media campaign conducted against parabens for a long time, they are used in the cosmetic industry less and less and are replaced by variants that seem more natural, but in higher concentrations and often more irritating.
Do you colour your cosmetics?
Some ranges are not coloured at all, i. e. the Dead Sea range, children's range and most products from the Daisy range.
For colouring the Beer range, we use caramel and beer itself besides food colourants. We usually do not colour products intended for face and skin care and leave the natural colour. Part of our range is coloured with safe synthetic food colourants certified for use in cosmetic products in Europe, the USA and Japan and meet the strictest standards.
We tested various natural colourants in our products but due to very low colour stability (i.e. instability in both light and the base of the products) we use them only little. They proved themselves e.g. in lip balms of the Wine and Rowan Berry ranges, where we exploit the red radish.
Why are Manufaktura products exceptional? Why are they more expensive than common consumer cosmetic products?
We decided to go another way in the development and manufacture of our cosmetic products then common consumable cosmetics. The output price is far from being our priority. We are happy that we can afford to use top quality natural ingredients and dose them in quantity that makes a real effect and that is not only information on the label used as promotional material.
We are proud to produce in Bohemia with a proportion of manual work. We do not test on animals. We cooperate with experts on development of our formulae and pay particular attention to design and sustainability.
How do you preserve your cosmetics?
For Manufaktura the use of preservatives in cosmetics serves for protection of consumers' health. Cosmetics are preserved to inhibit the growth of microorganisms, for which water and some natural resources contained in cosmetic products are an ideal culture medium.
Health risk resulting from non-stabilized products is significantly higher than the risk resulting from possible undesired reactions to high-quality preservatives. We preserve only the products where it is necessary, i.e. those containing water, such as washing preparations, serums, gel creams or emulsion. The most challenging product for preservation is emulsion, since it contains both water and oil. Emulsion must be stable, so it is not sufficient to preserve it efficiently as cream or lotion. For that reason, we cannot use any kind of preservative, because it may be incompatible with the formula of the product and result in destabilisation.
We choose the gentlest possible preservatives meeting the strictest world standards and to the least possible extent. In case of face cream or body lotion even packaging we use promotes preservation (= tubes + airless), which minimizes the contact of the cream with external impacts.
Bath salt or soap does not need any preservation at all, neither facial and body oil, caring sticks or lip balm - we stabilize them only with antioxidant vitamin E. For preservation of other products, we use a mixture of sodium benzoate and potassium sorbate, which is used in the food industry too. Next, it is a mixture of dehydroacetic acid and benzyl alcohol, which is authorised for use in organic cosmetics. In some cases, we must use phenoxyethanol, which was until recently authorised for use in certified organic cosmetics and which is recommended for children's cosmetics due to its low allergenic potential.
Are Manufaktura products natural? What do they contain?
In the Czech Republic there is no national standard determining what natural cosmetics are. Many brands present themselves as “natural cosmetic brands”, although composition of their products does not correspond to it. In countries that clearly define natural and conventional cosmetic products (the most sophisticated systems are in Germany and France), the main difference consists in bases of formulae, perfume, preservatives, colourants, active substances and the approach to packaging material.
Manufaktura chose the path of a reasonable compromise with a tendency towards natural cosmetics. When developing our products, the output price is not number one for us, but besides product efficiency and skin friendliness it is high quality, which we are proud of. We strive to use an optimal amount of natural raw materials or ingredients of natural origin suitable for care and protection of the skin. We do not use any petroleum products in bases of our formulae. Our products are enriched in active natural ingredients dosed in quantities making a real effect.
We produce in Bohemia with a proportion of manual work, we do not test on animals (no cosmetic products or ingredients can be tested on animals in the EU, unless there are alternative validated methods). We do not export to countries requiring tests on animals. We cooperate with experts on development and manufacture of our formulae and pay particular attention to design, packaging material and friendly environment.
Our cosmetics are made from raw materials based on plant oils and fats (coconut, almond, oat, apricot kernel, macadamia and jojoba oils, shea butter and many more…). There are no silicones or petroleum products in their formulae. Ingredients of animal origin are included only exceptionally, in some cases e.g. beeswax. And yet, some common consumer soaps are still based on animal fats. Many common face and body creams contain paraffinum liquidum – paraffin oil, so a petroleum product, as the basic ingredient.
Which products contain no perfume?
REGENERATION & NOURISHMENT Natural Multifunctional SOS Face Balm
Daisy Rejuvenating & Hydrating Skin Booster
Unique Activating Serum Preventing Hair Loss and Promoting Hair Growth
Soothing Herbal SOS Gel for Acne and Pimples (with active essential oils)
Rose & Hyaluronic Acid Anti-Aging Facial Oil (with genuine and valuable rose essential oil)
ROSE Lifting 3-in-1 Eye Serum – Eyelids, Dark Circles & Bags under the Eyes (with a small amount of genuine and valuable rose essential oil)
Strengthening Rosemary Hair Oil – Growth & Regeneration (with active rosemary essential oil)
In perfume formulae we use compositions consisting of natural or nature-identical substances, synthetic substances or possibly essential oils.
We use perfumes with the lowest possible allergenic potential. Unfortunately, as a general rule, the higher the content of natural essential substances, the higher the content of allergens. That is why the perfumes we use in the children's and the Dead Sea range are synthetically produced without any essential oils, i.e. they do not contain any allergens, which is impossible when using essential oils.
All our products are intended for very sensitive skin, as well as for children under 3 years. They were dermatologically tested. During their use no allergic reaction has been reported so far.
Natural essential oils are partly used for perfuming e.g. the Lavender and Thermal Spring Salt range or Soothing SOS Gel for Acne.
Are the products tested on animals?
Of course, they are not.
We were the first in the Czech Republic who obtained the unique internationally recognized certificate of not testing on animals, i.e. the Leaping Bunny certificate, awarded by the Cruelty Free International. This certificate guarantees that no ingredient contained in cosmetic products was tested on animals after the selected date.
How are cosmetic products and ingredients tested, if not on animals…?
Here are the most commonly used alternative methods:
1) IN VITRO METHOD - by means of cell and tissue culture grown in laboratories. Cell cultures are laboratory-grown plant and animal cells (including human ones). The cells can be kept alive for very long time. They grow in special bowls containing nutrient substance. Human cells are painlessly received from volunteers and patients undergoing operations.
2) EYETEX Screen Test used for determining the ocular irritation. The protein extracted from beans, which this method is based on, reacts identically as the protein contained in the human eye.
3) HUMAN PLACENTA, which is ordinarily disposed of after childbirth, presents high-quality testing material. It is highly responsive to tested chemical substances.
4) MICROORGANISMS – i.e. bacteria and yeasts. The methods based on application of bacteria and yeasts can help identify phototoxicity (i.e. skin reaction to a particular substance after exposure to light) and carcinogenicity of various substances.
5) COMPUTER AND MATHEMATICAL MODELS – based on the fact that properties of chemical substances can be derived from their structure. Computers take advantage of extensive memory potential and the possibility to accumulate and compare a large amount of information, which prevents repetition of animal testing that has already been done.
6) DERMATOLOGICAL TESTING – finished products are clinically tested on human volunteers (mainly in the National Institute of Public Health in Prague). The effects of the products on the skin are tested on human volunteers exactly as described.
Are your products tested? Are they healthy?
In the selection of raw materials used for manufacture we place particular emphasis to the compliance with strict European and American standards.
All our products are thoroughly tested in an internationally certified laboratory. Official protocols assessing their safety on human health are available.
None of our products is tested on animals.
Which products are suitable for allergic persons? Which of them are hypo-allergenic?
There are many types of allergies and allergens, so that is why allergic reactions are very individual. Paradoxically, the biggest allergens contained in cosmetic products are natural ingredients, such as essential oils or plant extracts, next fragrant components and preservatives. In any case, the best is to consult a physician.
For people with sensitive skin and skin problems, the most suitable range is the Dead Sea without any colourants, with hypo-allergenic perfume and valuable Dead Sea minerals. Next, the children's range, which is absolutely unique due to its soft and gentle plant composition.
Most products from the Daisy range were developed not to contain any potential allergens and to meet the needs of sensitive skin. According to dermatological tests, the products from the Rose range are suitable for sensitive skin.
Do you have products with pH 5.5?
Skin surface pH is usually between 4 and 6, which varies among individuals and depends on part of our body, age, sex, and other factors. This is where pH of our products ranges too. However, healthy skin quickly adjusts its pH regardless of pH of the product.
The generally recognised ideal pH is about 5.5. The children's cosmetics and the gel for intimate hygiene contain this value because these products are applied to sensitive and less adaptable areas.
All emulsions, i.e. face creams, hand creams and body lotions, have this pH value too. Our shampoos and shower gels have pH 5.
Do you have organic products?
Our range does not include any certified organic products, but many ingredients that we use have certification, such as ECOCERT or COSMOS.
Do Manufaktura cosmetics contain palm oil?
Palm oil, or sodium salt, which is formed by saponification of palm oil, is contained only in plant bar soap (indicated as sodium palmate and sodium palm kernelate). Palm oil, from which our soaps are made, comes from Indonesia and its producer was the first in Indonesia who obtained the RSPO certificate, i.e. Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil. The RSPO is an initiative with more than 1,400 members in 50 countries, established in 2004 by many stakeholders (growers, processors, traders, manufacturers of consumer goods, retailers, banks, non-governmental organizations focusing on environmental protection and social problems). The manufacturer of our palm oil is involved in this initiative from the very beginning.
This initiative awards the RSPO certificate. A grower who wants to obtain it must meet several strict criteria (commitment to transparency, compliance with applicable legislation and regulations, long-term economic viability, environmental responsibility, preservation of natural resources and biodiversity, responsibility towards employees, responsible development of new plantations). It primarily aims at maintenance of sustainable development, protection of forests and endangered species of wild animals.
It is one of the most challenging world standards for sustainable production and an example of certification systems of other marketable crops. More information is here: http://www.musimmas.com.
Do your products contain sulphates?
The composition of our cosmetics includes SLES - sodium laureth sulphate or sodium coco sulphate.
Like other cleansing surfactants, they are made from plant fatty acids, e.g. coconut oil, so SLES is of natural origin. The formulae of our preparations with SLES are formulated to be gentle to hair and skin and to be well tolerated.
SLES is a basic component of most shampoos, shower gels, bath foams as well as toothpastes. SLES has been used worldwide for several decades. It is one of the most efficient and safe high foaming surfactants with excellent cleansing performance. Its strong degreasing ability and efficiency can be eliminated very well with other gentle surfactants, conditioning, hydrating or greasing substances, as is the case of our products. In general, quality, price and the degree of irritability of the formulae with SLES vary widely.
Each formula must be assessed as a whole and not only on the basis of the content of SLES. There are both “good” and “bad-basic” formulae with SLES.
Besides cleansing surfactants of natural origin, our washing preparations contain many natural active substances, such as genuine beer and wine, natural herbal and fruit extracts, wheat proteins, plant oils, olive oil derivative, conditioning and greasing substances, panthenol, beta-glucan and others. A disadvantage of washing preparations without SLES is higher concentration of surfactants to reach a sufficient degree of efficiency.
We have several products with significantly softer sodium coco sulphate (with COSMOS, ECOCERT organic certification), which is the most frequently used surfactant of natural origin in certified organic cosmetics.
Shampoo and shower gel from the Meadow range is based on it, together with other gentle sulphate-free surfactants. Next, it is included in the Extra Soft Beer Dream Shampoo from the Beer Cosmetics, in the products from the Dead Sea range –the Extra Soft Shampoo and the Extra Soft Shower Gel, in the cleansing and make-up removing gel, the Wash Balm for Intimate Hygiene from the Daisy range and in the gel and shampoo from the MEN sensitive range. And we are preparing other ones.
Our products with sodium coco sulphate are very soft and suitable even for sensitive skin.
The washing products that are completely sulphate-free are included in the Baby & Friendly range. They are based on glucoside, glutamate and cocoamphoacetate – like the Soft Hair Shampoo and the Soft Wash and Bath Emulsion from our new children's range.
These sulphate-free products are less foaming and degreasing, since they are intended particularly for extra delicate and sensitive skin of babies. Adults can surely use these products too.
Where do your ingredients come from?
Unfortunately, due to lack of space on the product labels we cannot include information about origin of the natural ingredients we use.
We strive to exploit as many ingredients and packaging of Czech origin as possible. Unfortunately, essential oils or flower waters are not among them due to our geographical position where crops like the rose, mint and lavender cannot be grown in a quality allowing to obtain these ingredients.
Growers and manufacturers mainly from the Mediterranean countries (France, Spain, Egypt) or Bulgaria (rose oil) specialize in these commodities.
We use extracts from Czech natural resource, such as lemon balm, hops, daisy or Czech beer from Žatec hops and Moravian white wine.
Why do we read on the internet that sodium laureth sulphate is a harmful substance?
The internet is a great and valuable source of information. However, we can find there also information based on untruth, rumours and unsubstantiated claims, which unnecessarily frighten consumers.
Sodium laureth sulphate is a basic component of most shampoos, shower gels, bath foams and toothpastes. It is made from coconut oil and has been used for many decades. However, now and then there is a rumour about its carcinogenic effects. None of them has ever been confirmed.
Many institutions, such as OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration), ACS (American Cancer Society), IARC (International Agency for Research on Cancer) and many more have submitted clear statements.
Do you use ingredients of animal origin in the manufacture of your cosmetics?
The only animal ingredient we use is beeswax.
Each our vegan product has a pictogram on the label and this information is included also in the relevant product description on our website.
Why must cosmetics be preserved?
Preservatives contained in cosmetic products protect consumers' health.
Cosmetics are preserved to prevent growth of micro-organisms, for which water and some natural resources contained in cosmetic products, are an ideal culture medium.
The risk of health consequences resulting from non-stabilized products is significantly higher than the risk resulting from possible undesired reactions on high-quality preservatives.
Do you ship internationally? How much does it cost?
Yes, we ship worldwide. You can view a relevant price after selecting the country within 2nd step of the shopping process, before payment.

Which skin layer do your creams penetrate?
The skin consists of three main layers: the epidermis, the dermis (the corium) and the subcutaneous tissue. By this classification, no cosmetic substance penetrates the second or the third main layer due to collagen and elastic systems.
Intact healthy skin resists penetration, since it performs its barrier function. Penetration depends on many factors, e.g. health condition, age, type of the skin, area (mucous membrane is much more penetrable than callus), temperature, hydration and defects of the skin.
Next, it depends on the cosmetic ingredient itself, i.e. its molecular size, polarity (lipophilic substances penetrate sebaceous glands, hair follicles and intercellular lipids; hydrophilic substances penetrate sweat glands; lipophilic substances are generally more penetrable than hydrophilic ones) and substance carriers (emulsion, aqueous solution, etc.).
In general, most substances work only on the surface of the skin. Only some substances go deeper, such as cosmetic oils, squalene, vitamins or ceramides. It is claimed that these substances can penetrate the stratum lucidum (the second skin layer).
How to layer your products?
The principle is that lighter preparations (fluid or light cream) are applied to the skin first, while those with thicker or fattier consistency (face cream incl. BB cream or oil, or primer) at the end.
You find more information on this issue in our blog, in one of the articles about layering cosmetic products.
How to properly take care of your skin? How to cleanse it?
We recommend cleansing the skin in the morning and in the evening.
Morning cleansing is easier but of equal importance. We do not have to remove makeup but we must get rid of sweat, sebum and impurities produced overnight. The best is to apply toner.
For evening skin cleansing we use lotion, cleansing makeup removing foam, or two-phase eye and makeup remover, which can be followed by toner (all from the Daisy range) or micellar water from the Meadow range.
Use these products according to what suits you best and by your skin type. Multi-phase evening cleansing is particularly important, i.e. using products removing fat-soluble impurities (specifically oil-base preparations, such as lotion or two-phase makeup remover, or surfactant preparations, such as makeup removing foam, or micellar water, which is more suitable for oilier and younger skin), as well as water-soluble impurities, that is why we usually finish skin cleansing with toner.
The subsequent serums and creams are better absorbed in properly cleansed skin.
I have dark spots and acne. What products are the best for me?
We recommend the CLEAR & HAPPY Soothing SOS Gel for Acne and Pimples providing concentrated care with natural essential oils removing pimples and skin impurities. This stick helps accelerate drying of pimples, reduces sebum production and protects problematic areas.
We highly recommend application of non-greasy creams to acne-prone skin, such as the CLEAR & HAPPY Face Cream for Problematic Skin, which significantly reduces acne, mattes too shiny skin and restores elasticity to dry skin, or the CLEAR & HAPPY Toner for Acne, which gently cleanses and soothes oily and problematic acne-prone skin.
Cleansing acne-prone skin is particularly important. Skin with dark spots should be exfoliated once or twice a week with e.g. the Cleansing Clay Face Pack from the Daisy range.
Can I combine face care products from the individual ranges?
Yes, you can, however, you need to select products suitable for your skin type.
Can I use your soap for washing my face?
pH value of our bar soaps is between 8 and 10. We recommend products with lower pH for washing your face because the skin does not have to expend energy on restoring its more acidic pH.
The Daisy makeup removing range is perfect for daily facial hygiene.
Why does my product change its consistency?
The effects of emulsion products (creams) are affected by storage conditions depending on how product properties change due to frost or high temperatures. Decrease in viscosity at higher temperature is quite common in cosmetic products, as well as in butter.
What age can I start using cosmetics for wrinkles?
An expert from our development department always claims with smile that if we want to look beautiful at the age of sixty, we must start with skincare when we are sixteen.
We usually do not set the age limit at which you can start using our products just because of differences – dry skin is prone to formation of wrinkles sooner than mixed or oily skin.
On average the skin starts to age around the age of 25 when collagen and elastin naturally starts to decrease - these two substances are responsible for elasticity of our skin. Wrinkles result from combination of dehydration and loss of elasticity.
We recommend using hydrating creams, or BB creams from a young age as necessary skin care and to develop a habit, because as we get older, more cosmetic products are recommended with age.
What is the difference between hair balm and hair mask?
Both products have similar effects since they provide intense strengthening, hydration, regeneration, protection of colour and quality of hair and easy detangling. They eliminate unpleasant static charge and support hair growth. Hair masks usually contain more efficient substances.
The main difference consists in their use.
Hair mask should be applied to wet hair once or twice a week for 3-10 minutes, then rinsed properly with water. Mask can be used as wrap too.
In case of hair balm or conditioner, apply an appropriate amount to your washed hair (cover your hair entirely, or apply it just to the ends of your hair by type, as necessary) and let it set for 1-3 minutes, then rinse properly with water.
What shampoo is suitable for dyed hair?
We recommend especially the Extra Soft Beer Dream Shampoo and the Strengthening Hair Mask from the Beer range for dyed hair, which provides hair with high gloss and accentuates its colour.
The wine shampoo and the balm, with great regenerating and hydrating effects (thanks to fruit acids) is a good choice too. The regenerating shampoo and the Regeneration Hair Mask from the Apricot range are perfect for protection of hair colour.
Do you have products stimulating hair growth?
Our unique Activating Serum Preventing Hair Loss from the Beer cosmetic range not only accelerates growth and promotes hair volume (up to 28,200 new hairs after three-month application), but also prevents hair loss and strengthens hair, thus increases its volume. Or, we recommend strengthening rosemary oil for hair to improve its appearance and strengthen particularly growth of dry hair.
Do you have anti-dandruff shampoo?
Yes, our range includes the Extra Soft Soothing Anti-Dandruff Shampoo with Beer and Herbs. This shampoo offers a comprehensive and efficient solution relieving dandruff and itchy scalp. It does not contain zinc pyrithione, which is the most widely used anti-dandruff ingredient, prohibited now.
The unique formula of our shampoo is based on anti-dandruff ingredients – patented Dandrilys® extracted from bark of the ziziphus jujube.
Dandrilys® is a natural alternative to zinc pyrithione. It reduces formation of dandruff, has anti-inflammatory effects and excellent qualities soothing sensitive scalp and reducing uncomfortable symptoms, such as itching and redness, and regulates sebum production. The dandruff reduction effect lasts for up to 72 hours!
Do your shampoos contain silicones?
We do not use silicones in our hair cosmetics (neither in other products).
The Beer Hair Mask does not include any silicones, although it was not easy at all to replace them and to reach comparable efficiency, because silicones with their effects are difficult to replace. There is a great variety of many modern silicone compounds. Silicones intended for hair treatment do not burden hair and hair is easy to rinse. They have excellent conditioning effects, provide hair with volume, gloss, protection against heat, and others.
How are children's cosmetics tested?
All products from the children's range are dermatologically tested on volunteers even with very sensitive skin.
What products do you recommend for my skin after delivery?
Regular and repetitive application of nourishing greasy creams and oils helps prevent formation of stretch marks, small scars and improves overall skin elasticity. Apply them regularly to problematic areas, such as breast, buttocks, belly and thighs.
Our Serum against stretch marks and cellulite from the Wine range, which prevents formation of stretch marks and improves the appearance of previously created ones, is an ideal companion during pregnancy and after delivery. It contains unique active substances, such as extracts from the astragalus membranaceus, pennywort and wine grapes, which together with a safe amount of caffeine (also for pregnant women) and other substances against cellulite prevents or reduces formation of stretch marks (depending on quality of the skin) and significantly improves the appearance of the skin with cellulite.
Efficiency of the product against stretch marks and cellulite is verified by clinical studies.
Are children's cosmetics really skin friendly?
Yes, they are.
We tried to develop the gentlest and finest possible composition based on plant raw materials suitable for children's skin care. Children's skin is several times more sensitive and vulnerable than adult skin, so cosmetics intended for kids require exceptionally gentle and non-irritant composition.
The formulae of children's cosmetics are significantly different from common products available in the market. We use one of the softest known cleansing system and allergen-free fragrance and extract.
The products were tested in the National Institute of Public Health in Prague on a group of adult allergy sufferers (testing on kids as volunteers does not comply with ethical standards) and children and grandchildren of our employees. No allergic reaction was reported.
Are children's cosmetics natural?
There are no clear rules determining whether cosmetics are natural or not. But there are many certification companies having their own rules.
Our cosmetics for children contain maximum substances of natural origin (in the range of 96-99.5%).
Are children's cosmetics suitable also for adults?
Definitely yes. Due to exceptionally gentle composition free from sulphates, parabens, petroleum oils and allergen fragrances and thanks to true plant oils and efficient oat extract with valuable beta-glucan, the cosmetics are perfect for considerate care of very sensitive adult skin.
However, it always depends on individual skin condition (e.g. in case of eczema consulting a dermatologist is necessary).
The children's shampoo can be used also by adults with very sensitive scalp. An individual hair type plays a role too. Longer hair may get tangled, because unlike shampoo for adults, children's shampoo does not contain any special conditional ingredients, only oils.
Can children use other cosmetics besides the products from the children's range?
Special dermatological tests for sensitive skin are necessary for testing cosmetic products intended for children under three. All our products besides the Baby Friendly range are suitable for children 3+.
Are your syrups suitable for children?
Yes! Except for the Good Night Syrup containing 9.5% of alcohol, we recommend all our syrups. With regard to caffeine we recommend neither the Good Morning Syrup, nor the Herbal Elixir from the MEN's range.
Can I have bath with your bath salt, if I am pregnant?
This issue should be consulted with a physician. Salt is certainly not a problem for pregnant women, however, some physicians generally do not recommend bathing of pregnant women in hot water at all.
Can application of children's cosmetics cause irritation or allergy?
We can never exclude hypersensitivity caused by application of cosmetics. Hypoallergenic children's cosmetics are dermatologically tested (such as ours), so allergies and irritation can occur quite exceptionally.
Can I use your cosmetics if I am pregnant?
Definitely yes. Our cosmetics are suitable also for pregnant women.
Application of natural aromatherapy oils (which are not cosmetic products) is not recommended, or only with great caution and after consulting a physician.
Does children's cosmetic range contain any colourants?
The products from our children's range contain no colourants.
Can application of children's cosmetics cause irritation or allergy?
We can never exclude hypersensitivity caused by application of cosmetics. Hypoallergenic children's cosmetics are dermatologically tested (such as ours), so allergies and irritation can occur quite exceptionally.
What age is appropriate for using children's cosmetics? How often?
These cosmetics are suitable for children under three including babies. In general, application of children's cosmetics vary in babies and in 3-year-old kids whose protective skin barrier is more developed.
Most children can use washing preparations more frequently (more times per week) in comparison with babies whose protective skin barrier is not well developed yet. For that reason, it should not be burdened too much.
Excessive use of cosmetics or their poor choice can result in irritation and drying of delicate skin.
High-quality hydrating care and greasing by means of high-quality children's cosmetics is important. In general, consumers should use children's cosmetics carefully and moderately.
If children's cosmetics get into the baby's eyes during bath, will they irritate them?
Our cosmetics are very sensitive to eyes and they should not irritate them. Although try to avoid eye contact as much as possible.
What to do in case of skin redness, itching and other allergic reactions after use of the cosmetics?
No matter how good cosmetics are, whether they are natural or not, reaction in the form of skin irritation, or allergic reaction, may occur in exceptional cases.
An allergy test can establish a diagnosis and confirm which ingredient causes this reaction. It may deal of sensitivity to any product component. The most probable are both natural and synthetic constituents of perfume, as well as natural substances, such as natural extracts, essential oils and other preservatives.
All ingredients included in our products are authorised, commonly used and dosed in permitted concentrations. The products are dermatologically tested on volunteers and evaluated by an independent expert as safe for human health.
Unfortunately, despite all testing, sensitization or allergic reaction caused by any authorised substance can occur in some sensitive individuals after application of a cosmetic product. After use of our products, as well as other cosmetic products, a similar issue may exceptionally occur, although most customers have no problems with them.
Sensitization may result also from interaction with e.g. food, medicaments, other cosmetic and cleaning products, weather, overall condition of a customer – influence of hormones, stress, etc.). In case of sensitive skin, sensitization can easily appear also after application of after-sun cosmetic preparations, scrub, and others.
If a physician-dermatologist finds out what ingredient causes reaction, it is necessary to carefully monitor what composition is indicated in product labels. Do not use any products with the identified ingredient (which is harmless for most population).
How long can products be used after opening?
The back labels of our products include a symbol of an open cosmetic pot with a number of months. This data indicates how long the individual product can be used after opening.
Do beer cosmetics really contain beer and wine cosmetics true wine?
Yes, the Beer cosmetics = beer shampoo, balm, shower gel, hair serum or after shave balm contain a significant percentage of Ferdinand beer prepared from a special variety of Žatec “Vital” hop developed for pharmaceutical and biomedical purposes. Beer soap, beer mask, hand cream and lip balm, where beer cannot be added, contain a specially prepared beer extract or hops and barley extract.
The wine cosmetics contain true South-Moravian wine from the Pfeffer wine-maker in Rakvice, while other products (body lotion, hand cream, lip balm) contain grape seed oil.
Is hand sanitizer effective against viruses?
Effectiveness against feared viruses, including COVID-19, bacteria and fungi, is confirmed by the National Institute of Public Health. Our hand sanitizers are registered as biocides.
I am gluten intolerant. Can I use your products?
Wheat germ extract is used in most of our bath products, such as shower gel, shampoo, oil bath. These products do not penetrate deeper layers of the skin, so they should not be problematic.
Instead of wheat germ extract our children's range is enriched in oat beta-glucan, which is suitable also for gluten intolerant people.
I have sensitive skin / skin problems...
Our most suitable range for people with sensitive skin and skin problems is definitely the Dead Sea collection containing no colourants, allergen-free fragrance and valuable Dead Sea minerals. The children's range is entirely unique for its soft and gentle plant composition.
Most products from the Daisy range were developed not to contain any potential allergens and to meet the needs of sensitive skin.
Do you have sunscreens? After sun lotions?
Unfortunately, we do not have any sunscreens.
However, for sunburnt skin we can recommend our products containing panthenol with soothing and regenerating effects. Application of our body lotions is suitable after sunbathing.
Do you have any products against sweating?
Our range does not include products preventing sweating.
We have excellent mineral deodorants with alum and exceptionally efficient lichen extract, preventing growth of bacteria causing bad odour but not stopping natural sweating, which is healthy and very beneficial to our bodies. Our deodorants are effective for up to 24 hours.
Do your deodorants contain aluminium?
Aluminium is the most abundant metal in the earth's crust. We naturally eat and drink aluminium compounds by means of potable water and food daily. They are included in fruit, vegetables, corn and meat. Aluminium penetrates the organism also when taking medicines and using things that contain it, such as packaging (mainly tinfoil or cans), kitchenware, and others.
Our natural deodorants include potassium alum, which is a water soluble aluminium compound with a sufficiently large molecule that cannot penetrate the skin and get into the bloodstream, so it is safe for human health. Many toxicological studies confirm that it has no carcinogenic effect or does not cause Alzheimer's disease. So, its concentration in cosmetic products is not limited.
Unlike aluminium chlorohydrate, potassium alum (alum or alunite, potassium aluminium sulphate) is a natural mineral authorized in certified natural cosmetics (BDIH, ECOCERT, COSMOS, Natrue and others) due to its safety and natural origin. Many renowned companies manufacturing certified natural cosmetics use it for production of their deodorants (Urtekram, Santé, Logona, Aluna and others).
Rumours about hazardousness are unjustified hoaxes. Potassium alum mineral has been used for centuries to stop bleeding after shaving, or for medical purposes – in dental practice, for production of vaccines, in the culinary world (E 522 in baking powder), for purification of drinking water and in the cosmetic industry. Traditional Chinese and Ayurvedic medicine uses alum as an antiseptic to heal wounds, to treat tonsillitis and acne, or as toothpowder. If the substance was harmful, it would not be allowed for use in the fields relating to human health.
What products contain ethyl alcohol?
Our eau de toilette contain a higher amount of alcohol - which is solvent material for fragrance composition. Next, it is included in our hand sanitizers, where 70% ethyl alcohol efficiently fights viruses and bacteria.
Men's after shave balm contains ethyl alcohol due to needed disinfection. The Soothing SOS Gel from the Clear & Happy range serves as solvent of essential oils and a disinfection agent, which also dries out pimples.
Our assortment includes products such as the Anti-Aging Serum with Daisy or the Skin Booster, which contain ethanol in negligible quantities (hundredths of percent) because it is part of vitamin complex A, C, E and it is as solvent.
We do not add ethanol to our products individually. The quantities of ethanol that we use do not dry out the skin and ethanol is not perceptible in our formulae at all, neither by a sensory evaluation.
How about alcohol contained in cosmetic products? You can read it in our blog in an interesting interview with our long-term developer, Ing. Eva Horčíková.
Does your hair serum really work?
The Swiss producer of the main active substance of Redensyl recommends its application for at least 3 months in respect of the clinical tests. After a three-month treatment hair volume increases and hair becomes thicker and firmer. For a lasting effect the producer recommends constant use. One container is sufficient for 2-3 months (depending on quantity applied to scalp; the whole scalp should be wet and rubbed). Excessive hair loss should disappear.
Natural hair loss corresponds to less than 100 hairs lost per day, which is a normal process because hair grows in cycles, i.e. a hair grows for some time and then falls out.
Follicles are without hair for a short time before hair starts to grow again. Besides strengthening and improving hair growth the serum shortens the phases of the development cycle when a follicle is without a hair. That is how hair grows thicker.
